Accessibility Statement

Accessibility Status

The operators of this website strive to ensure that it is accessible in accordance with the Accessibility Strengthening Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz – BFSG) and the requirements of EU Directive 2019/882 (European Accessibility Act). In doing so, we adhere to the internationally recognized standards of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Conformance Level AA.

This accessibility statement applies to the entire website www.welding.eu.

Implemented Measures

The website already fulfills large parts of the accessibility requirements:

1. Perceivable

  • Text contrast meets at least the required ratios (4.5:1 or 3:1 for large text).
  • Content remains fully readable at 200% zoom.
  • Both portrait and landscape modes are supported.
  • Content is distinguishable without relying on color.
  • The reading order is correctly defined in the HTML.
  • All form input fields are clearly labeled.
  • Error messages are understandable and not indicated by color alone.
  • Required fields are clearly marked.
  • Input fields support autofill through appropriate autocomplete attributes.

2. Operable

  • The entire website is navigable using a keyboard.
  • A clearly visible keyboard focus is available.
  • Interactive elements such as buttons have sufficiently large clickable areas.
  • There are no automatic time limits.
  • No flashing or moving content is used.
  • Navigation is designed consistently.
  • Skip links are provided for quick navigation (e.g., to the main content).

3. Understandable

  • The primary language of the site is correctly specified in the HTML (lang="de").
  • Form error messages are clearly worded.
  • The logic of operation and navigation behaves consistently.

4. Robust

  • The HTML code is largely valid and semantically correct.
  • ARIA attributes are used appropriately.
  • The website is compatible with screen readers.

Areas for Improvement

Despite our best efforts, some barriers remain:

1. Perceivable

  • Some images still need to be provided with meaningful alternative texts.
  • Subtitles and audio descriptions are currently missing for videos with audio.

2. Operable

  • Some link texts are not sufficiently descriptive.
  • Some adjacent links lead to the same URL (redundancy).
  • Embedded PDF files are not yet accessible.

3. Understandable

  • The use of plain language will be increasingly considered in the future.
  • Foreign language terms are not yet marked using the appropriate HTML tags.
